Bok, Hannes (Wayne Francis Woodard) : Interior art [possibly for Weird Tales]

[New York]: Hannes Bok, 1939.

Black and white drawing by the famed science fiction and fantasy illustrator Hannes Bok. Bok's color cover art and black and white interior drawings appeared in many science fiction and fantasy magazines of the 1940s and 1950s, among them Weird Tales, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Famous Fantastic Mysteries, and many others. This drawing appears to be a photostat used to produce printing plates. There is no indication of where it was published, but it may be from Weird Tales; the Hannes Bok Illustration Index indicates that his only publications for 1939 were in that magazine. Given some of the imagery, it could also be for the story "The Dreadful Rabbits" by Gans T. Field, which appeared in the July 1940 issue of Weird Tales. 14 x 10-5/8 inches. Fine.
